GateWay GFX - Official Banner of the year Rules

These rules govern this Banner of the year. By entering in this Banner of the year you agree to the following. If you do not agree you may not enter. You agree that you shall not violate the rules. If you violate these rules, you shall accept the sentence given. The rules may be changed at any moment without notice. The Graphics Moderators reserve the right to deem any entry as an inappropriate entry and remove it from the competition. Punishment for breaking a rule is under the sole discretion of the staff member providing the punishment as long as it is between the minimum and maximum punishment for that rule.


Entry Rules

1. Dimensions
Entires must fit between the following dimensions. (Horizontal x Vertical)
900x180
Maximum sentence: Disqualification

2. New Entry Rule
All Entries must be pm'd to the host of that year's BOTY

3. Theme
The Banner must Have the text GateWay GFX.
You are allowed to put ur name on the banner but not big.
Participants are required to follow the assigned banner of the year theme. Whether or not a Banner is appropriate will be decided by the Graphics Moderators.

Minimum sentence: Disqualification
Maximum sentence: 2 week suspension

4. Premades
All entries must be made after the Banner of the year competition for that year has started.

Minimum sentence: Disqualification
Maximum sentence: 2 week suspensionfrom entering in any graphics competition

5. Changing Entries
Entries are allowed to be changed after being entered only if the second entry is not an updated version of the first entry. This will be decided by the Graphics Moderators

Exceptions: If approved by a Graphics Moderator.
Minimum sentence: Disqualification
Maximum sentence: 2 week suspension

6. Before Hand Criticism
Participants are not allowed to post entries anywhere on GateWay GFX before entering it into the Banner of the year.

Exceptions: If entry is posted elsewhere less than 5minutes before entered into the competition.
Minimum sentence: Disqualification
Maximum sentence: 2 week suspension

7. Ripping
Entries must be the work of the user entering it into the competition. Any participants suspected of ripping will be required to provide a graphics moderator with either a .PSD or .XCF of the entry. Even then it is up to the Graphics Moderators to decide whether the entry was ripped.

Minimum sentence: Disqualification
Maximum sentence: Permanent ban

8. Thread Creating
Only members of the Staff are allowed to create entry, voting, and discussion threads for this competition.

Minimum sentence: Warning
Maximum sentence: Permanent ban

Voting Rules

1. Age Requirement
Voters in the Banner of the year must be a member of GateWay GFX for a minimum of one week before voting in the competition.

Minimum sentence: Users Vote Removed
Maximum sentence: 2 week suspension from entering in any graphics competition after they become eligible to vote

2. Self Voting
Voters in the Banner of the year must not vote for their own entry.

Minimum sentence: Users Vote Removed
Maximum sentence: 2 week suspension from entering in any graphics competition after they become eligible to vote and their entry being eliminated.

3. Voting System
Vote for either top 3 or 1 (specified on voting thread).

Minimum sentence: Users Vote Removed
Maximum sentence: Users Vote Removed

3- Verbal warning
4- Warning
5- Infraction
6- Temporary suspension from entering in the competition
7- Temporary suspension from voting in the competition
8- Temporary suspension from the Graphics Section
9- Permanent suspension from the Graphics Section

All times are set in Eastern Standard Time (EST). These times are general estimates that can change each year depending on staff activity.

Themes

The Themes for each Banner of the year competition will be decided by the staff member hosting that years. competition.



Hall of Fame

The winning entry in each years competition will be placed in the Banner of the year: Hall of Fame which can be found Here
